Data Storage

Your initial allocation of storage on our server is 4GB. This is enough for a very large website with a moderate amount of multimedia content. If you need more, you can "double up" at a rate of $5/month. This means if you have the base 4GB, you can get 8GB for an additional $5, and 16GB for another $5.

Data Transfer

Your initial allocation of bandwidth (data transferred off our server) is 25 gigabytes, enough for all but the busiest websites. As with storage, you can "double up" your bandwidth allocation for $5/monthly. As with storage, this means you can upgrade to 50GB of bandwidth for $5, and 100GB for another $5.

PHP, CGI, and MySQL ready

Our web hosting accounts come PHP, CGI/Perl, and MySQL ready. These are programming or scripting languages that allow for the construction of dynamic websites. MySQL is a popular open source database soluton. This means you can run anything you want on our server, but we do reserve the right to disallow a script if it is buggy, insecure, or overutilizing the system. This is done at our sole discretion, but is rarely a problem.

99.9% Uptime Guarantee

We offer a money back guarantee on our hosting service. If we fail to meet a 99.9% uptime across any thirty day period, we will refund 1-month's service upon request. Customer must supply evidence of the outage; there are many monitoring services available online, many for free. Please understand that some "outages" are really Internet congestions that are outside of our control and therefore not serviceable under this policy. We reserve the right to provide evidence that we have met our 99.9% uptime, and to issue refunds at our sole discretion.

Unlimited Subdomains

An example of a subdomain would be subdomain.yourname.com. We allow the hosting of unlimited subdomains, again, provided you don't overrun your data transfer or storage limits.

Free Webmail/Productivity Suite

We run Horde IMP Webmail on our server, an open-source and very professionally written webmail package. This is available by default to all customers. It allows you to black list spammers automatically, instead of through your control panel! Horde also features an online calendar and address book! Unlimited E-mail boxes

We offer as part of every package unlimited e-mail addresses. Please note that e-mail storage counts toward your storage allotment, and we do not encourage using our servers for permanent e-mail archival, nor do we make provision for data backup or restoration for e-mail boxes in the event of data loss or other emergencies.

Unlimited E-mail aliases, forwards, and autoresponders

A better solution for a customer that needs lots of e-mail addresses that route to the same people, we offer unlimited aliases and forwards, and autoresponders allow you to send a brief e-mail back to people mailing you to pass on information or confirm receipt.

5 Free Mailing Lists

Reach your customers, friends, family, or readers by sending only ONE e-mail! Our mailing lists let you reach more people with less effort. 5 are included by default. NOTE: Athena WILL NOT tolerate spammers. All recipients on your mailings MUST have consented to receive bulk mail from you. We WILL terminate your account without warning if you are using our service to send Mass Unsolicited Commercial E-mails, better known as spam.

Spam and Virus detection and filtering

Our server uses SpamAssassin and Dr. Web to automatically detect and filter spam and/or virus infected e-mails. For spam, you can set your own white/blacklists (allowed or disallowed e-mail addresses) from your control panel or inside the Horde Webmail.

SSL Secure server ready!

We don't charge extra to allow you your own secure server! Take credit cards, allow secure signups, and more with this feature! (*secure certificate required, sold separately.)

Urchin Web Analytics Software

We are proud to offer the award-winning Urchin Web Analytics package. This software allows you to login to your server's statistics and see what your visitors are doing on your site, what pages they visit, how long they stay, where they come from, how they found your site, and so, SO much more. This is the same package now offered by web search giant Google.

OSCommerce Shopping Cart

OSCommerce is a professional, open source shopping cart solution that we can preinstall for you. Compare it to the commercial shopping carts out there, which often cost hundreds of dollars, and we think you'll agree this is a teriffic solution for any-sized web store!

Custom 404 error pages

Not a necessary feature, but we do allow you to customize the error pages your web site gives to visitors who wander astray. One more feature to put control of your site fully in your hands!

Custom-labelled DNS servers

By request, we will custom label the DNS servers that people can see through whois services at domain registrars. This aids your privacy and makes it appear as though you handle your own hosting.

Crontab scheduling access

Some website functions, such as pruning forum databases, need to be carried out on a regular and automated basis. We allow our customers access to set this up as they require.

Banner Ad Server

We run a banner ad server on our system. By request, we will provide you with an account that will allow you to sell banner ads on your site, or simply operate a link exchange.
